Skipper El Dorado I.P.P - This I.P.A. was created using El Dorado hops. Its golden-yellow colour and tropical essences symbolize the «city of gold» described in the 16th century tale of El Dorado; a place said to be covered in gold somewhere in the Americas. Many sailors searched for this mysterious city in hopes of finding all its riches. Some even perished during their treacherous travels. With this beer we reminisce the Skipper (the captain and navigator of a ship) who faced the rough waters in search of El Dorado and embark on a new adventure to uncover the savoury riches of the mysterious El Dorado hop.

Thanks to Chopz for picking this up at the brewery. Pours a huge frothy off-white head and has a slightly hazy golden appearance, moderate carbonation. Some big dirty lacing remains. Some sediment is visible. Aromas of citrus and floral hops, a bit of pine and and yeast as well. Flavours are citrusy, pine and grass, a bit herbal, some yeasty notes as well as biscuit malt and hints of spices. Quite flavourful. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness, maybe just slightly more bitter. Pretty good overall.

Can purchased at this newest brewery on our trip up north. Pours a hazy golden-orange colour with an off-white cap, average stay and foam layer and lace. Particle float around. Big hoppy nose of El Dorado showing grass and notes of citrus. The taste is not as bitter as expected, but still acceptable with a nice dry touch. Goes down quite well, and maybe shows more bitterness as it goes. Very nice.
