Hop Disciples – Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The inaugural release features Idaho 7, which shows up punching with aromas of orange zest and stone fruit complemented by a hint of black tea leaves in an uncharacteristic element of subtlety. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable 6.2% ABV, we promise it’s a lover not a fighter.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pours hazy solar yellow with a thick, frothy, and rather persistent porcelain head. Aroma offers resiny hops, citrus, and subtle woody hints. Flavor ups the woody character and tosses in a little bitterness, along with some fresh malt notes. Didn’t get any tea, though. Mouthfeel presents firm body and some good fizz. Be a disciple.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4

12 oz can, canned 1/26/17. Pours slightly hazy light yellow with a big fluffy white head that retains well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is stinky green onion and floral hops.

The flavor is basically all stinky onion hops with a little sweet malt. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, apparently I don't like Idaho 7 hops.
