Combines the bitterness of two aroma hops, the lush sweetness of honey and malt and an earthly yeast taste creating a Winter Warmer designed to ward off the coldest days. The dark, rich amber color comes from a combination of molasses and crystal malts; the Thames Valley brings a distinct earthly flavor; white the blend of hops creates fruity (Amarillo) and piney (Cluster) bitterness. The Winter Warmer ends with a slight warming sensation from the elevated alcohol content. Enjoy this one throughout the winter months.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5

Bottle courtesy of sloth. Copper color ok initial head. Aroma of sweet dark malts, molasses, some dark fruits, light chocolate, pine. The flavor followed the aroma, brown sugar also in there, the pine and dark malts just not working at all for me, clashing in many ways. I am a huge Troegs homer fan, drinking all their regulars, knowingly over-appreciative of even their Dream Weaver Wheat, but this I couldn't even try to like more. Mouthfeel was moderate, a little underattenuated, spicey, but finishing with a bit of bitterness (earthy bittering hops). Oh well, this is why it's a scratch brew. Carry, on, Troegs Bros! Thanks, Bert!
